Myakka Valley Ranches is uniquely situated adjacent to the 28,875 acre Myakka
River State Park, an oasis of natural Florida vegetation. The park contains miles
of hiking trails, two lakes, and a wild & scenic river. It is not uncommon to see  
native wildlife species: gopher tortoises,alligators, armadillos, fox, deer, otter, and
even an occasional bald eagle.  
    Myakka Valley Ranches offers a way
    of life all it's own. The subdivision is
    comprised of approximately three
    hundred 5+ acre parcels, with
    privately owned and maintained paved
    roads. The area is designed to
    accommodate horses, with easements
    on both sides of the 17 miles of paved
    roads designated as riding trails as
    well as several miles of other trails.
    The road system design provides for
    low traffic and creates an ideal setting
    for bike riding and jogging.  Two
    private waterfront parks are located
    within the subdivision for resident's
    use.
    The Sarasota County fire station pictured at left is conveniently
    located at the entrance of the subdivision.  

Myakka Valley Ranches Improvement Association (MVRIA, hence the
Website name) is responsible for road and bridge maintenance and
enforcement of the deed restrictions.  The MVRIA annual dues are
only $379 per  year.  The MVRIA Board of Directors conduct monthly
meetings which are open to all Homeowners, and the Annual
meeting/barbeque is held  in April. The MVRIA also publishes the
"Trails 'N' Tales", a monthly  newsletter containing local news items, a
calendar of events, local classified ads, and other information for
residents.

    Power is delivered by Florida Power and Light. Verizon is the
    local phone provider and also provides DSL Internet service,
    and other high speed wireless Internet and Satellite
    entertainment services are available.
    Directions
    Use Exit 205 from I-75 & head east on Clark Rd (RT.
    72), away from the beach. Go 7 miles from I-75 and
    see 3 yellow signs on the right side of the road. One
    of them has a picture of a firetruck. After this sign,
    turn left into the well marked entrance of Myakka
    Valley Ranches.
